On October 21, 2022, the opening ceremony of the China Chongqing Tongnan International Lemon Festival was held in the Lemon Seedling Breeding Center of the National Modern Agricultural Industrial Park. At the opening ceremony, Tongnan District and Southwest University jointly built a national leading county for agricultural science and technology modernization. Tongnan District, Dazu District, Jiangjin District, Suining City, Guang'an City, Sichuan Province Anyue County and other nine neighboring regions of Sichuan and Chongqing jointly signed and issued the Declaration of the International Lemon Production Area Alliance of Chengdu Chongqing Economic Circle, and held the Tongnan 100000 ton lemon export departure ceremony.

The relevant person in charge of Tongnan District introduced that at present, Tongnan District has built three standard lemon production bases of ten thousand mu and ten large-scale lemon plantations of one thousand mu, with annual planting of 320000 mu and fresh fruit output of 280000 tons; Relying on the international agricultural product processing park, more than 10 precision and deep processing enterprises such as Huida Biology, Mengtai Technology, and Honey Snow Ice City Snow King Agriculture are introduced, with a total industrial chain output value of 6 billion Yuan; High standard construction of a lemon export registration base of 30000 acres, with products exported to more than 30 countries and regions such as Russia, Germany, and Singapore. The annual export of lemons accounts for over 40% of the country's total export volume.
